Ok, so… normally I would not use the blog as a place to gather advice for my back pain but it is getting ridiculously painful. Here is a back story…**While working as a bar back, I pulled some muscles that prevented me from moving my neck left to right and up and down. I also could not move my left arm without very slow excruciating pain. This pain lasted about 10 days (obviously not a “true” pulled muscles but you get the point). The doctor said that from there on out, I would be prone to these injuries.**
Fast forward to the NOW and I get this pain from nothing other than “tension knots” that I get usually in my left shoulder blade, clear up to the top of my shoulder, and up my neck. I try desperately to massage these knots away but doing it myself is impossible. Also, when I get someone else to, it just seems to get more painful the next day or so. Currently, my pain is in the left side of my back, starting at the shoulder blade, moving in toward the spine yet the pain also moves into the back of my left arm. The top of my left shoulder is killing me, as is to the left of my spine and up the left side of my neck staying just to the left of my spine. What did I do to get this pain?? NOTHING. It started with a tension knot yesterday that has turned into the devil today.
Does anyone know anything about massage therapy and whether or not it would be a good option for me? I literally get immobile (or very painfully mobile) once a month and if I can prevent this in any way, I am there! I was thinking of trying a deep tissue massage and maybe Reiki to see if that will help.
Any and all suggestions would be so appreciated. ♥
